Opera Boston is established.

Founded by Randolph Fuller and Winifred Perkin Gray, it is an outgrowth of the Boston Academy of Music. Gil Rose is the artistic director. The company closes after disagreements among board members and financial difficulties after a final semi-staged performance of Mozart’s Bastien und Bastinenne at Emmanuel Church on January 1, 2012.
